The Purple Guide Subscription Terms & Conditions
1. Your subscription
Your subscription is for a period of one year from the purchase date (for new subscriptions) or renewal date (for renewing subscriptions) and provides you with a login to access the published chapters of the Purple Guide at www.thepurpleguide.co.uk.
Payment is collected by Food, Events and Things (FEAT) Ltd. on behalf of EIF Ltd. – the publishers of the Purple Guide – and is made either online through the PayPal payments system, or offline by cheque or bank draft.
Payment online can be made using most credit and debit cards and all such payments will be subject to validation checks and authorisation by the card issuer. If the issuer of your card refuses to authorise payment to us, then we will not be able to confirm your order and no contract will exist between us.
We will e-mail you an invoice on successfully setting up your subscription, either as confirmation of an online payment received or as a notification of payment due if you selected to pay offline.
Where additional subscription plans are available, you may be able to change your subscription to a different plan at a discounted rate. We are unable to offer a refund if the price of the new plan is less than your existing plan.
Renewal: Your subscription does not automatically renew. You will be sent a reminder to renew by e-mail 30 days before your subscription expires and again 7 days ahead of expiry. If you do not renew before your subscription expires, your access to www.thepurpleguide.co.uk will be suspended and you may need to create a brand new subscription.
You can also renew at any time during your subscription period from your account profile.
Your membership details: During the subscription process you will be asked to create a username and password to access the website. These are encrypted but can be retrieved by following the reminder links on the site.
2. Multiple-User (Access-by-IP) Subscriptions
Our multiple user subscriptions are intended to offer comapnies, local authorities, educational establishments and similar organisations the ability to purchase multplie logins for employees or students by way of a single payment.
It is the responsibility of the holder of a multiple user subscription to ensure that logins created using their plan are done so for the use of emplyees or students of their organisation. Failure to do so may result in the suspension or termination of your subscription and all logins associated with it.
Multiple-User Subscriptions cannot be used under any circumstance to grant access to third party organisations, businesses or their representatives.
3. Cancellation
If you no longer require your subscription, you do not need to do anything to cancel. Without your action to renew, your account will automatically cancel at the end of the current subscription period.
Please be aware that because your subscription can be used immediately, you do not have the statutory cooling off period during which you may cancel your membership without charge.
4. Other important things you need to know
Please keep your subscription details confidential to help us maintain the security of our websites. You should not allow any other person to obtain access to the Purple Guide website www.thepurpleguide.co.uk using your membership details.
What happens if you don’t comply with these terms? We will treat any non-compliance as a serious issue, and if we think you have breached any of these terms, we may take any action that we consider appropriate. This may include the temporary or permanent suspension of your access to our website.
